  • Familiarize yourself with JESSIE'S HOPE philosophy, requirements and time commitment. Is it something that you are interested in, or better yet, passionate about?

  • Do you envision yourself being with our organization for the next year?
  • Download the Volunteer Application Package [MS Word] [PDF].

Upon receiving your application the Volunteer Coordinator will contact you, shortly there
after, to discuss your application further.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH VOLUNTEER

A JESSIE'S HOPE Community Outreach Volunteer is an individual who delivers presentations in their community based on our prevention framework. This framework gives girls the knowledge and skills that will support them in expressing their feelings constructively, setting boundaries, having healthy connections with others, developing their self-esteem from within rather than based on their appearance, having a good sense of their bodies, being physically active, and having a healthy relationship with food. The Community Outreach Volunteer delivers at least two (2) such presentations a month in the Lower Mainland area. A Community Outreach Volunteer agrees to:

  • Encourage individual acceptance of oneself for who they are and not what our society says they should be.
  • Model JESSIE'S HOPE philosophy of being non-judgmental and focusing on one's behaviour rather than "blaming" the individual.
  • Value all perspectives equally.
  • Deliver content consistent with JESSIE'S HOPE philosophy.

Volunteer Requirements:

  • Availability to provide a minimum of two presentations (during the day) per month in schools, community groups, parent groups and professionals who work with youth.
