Training is offered free of charge to the School District Superintendent, School Trustees, Principals, Teachers, Counsellors, Coaches, Administrators, PAC, Public Nurses, Community Nutritionists/Dieticians.

Our goal is to establish a sustainable presence within each participating school district.  Each participating school district would need to  commit to changing their school environment and way of thinking around media and peer pressure, healthy eating, active living, teasing, and adult role models to build resiliency in children.  To be effective, it is important that all school officials embrace our program in its entirety.

By training all school officials to understand the resilience-based framework that the program operates from will help them learn how to naturally tap into their own well-being as well as their students' well-being whether they are working directly or indirectly with students in their school environment.  This nine (9) hour training program is being offered to grades 4, 5 & 6 teachers and counsellors.

As each unit is matched to the Ministry of Education's grade 4, 5 & 6 curriculum outcomes, teachers will have the opportunity to incorporate this resiliency based program as part of their students studies during class time.  Each unit requires approximately 35-45 minutes of class time and can be run either twice per week for 5 weeks or once per week for 10 consecutive weeks.  An evaluation will be undertaken by Jessie's Hope Society for further analysis of the program effectiveness.  A training manual is available for purchase to those teachers and counsellors who choose to incorporate this program as part of their classroom/group work curriculum.

All other school officials (including parents) will be offered a 2 hour introductory workshop to understand our principle-based approach that they can apply either at home or within their school environment.
